QR code generator
Turn any text or URL into a QR code ready to print or share. Choose the error-correction level and image scale, then download it as a PNG.
To generate a QR code, enter your text or URL, choose an error-correction level, and download the PNG. It is free and needs no sign-up.
How to use it
Paste your text or URL, pick an error-correction level and pixels-per-module, and the code appears with its file size and dimensions. Download it as a PNG.
When it helps
A QR code is the shortest path from paper to screen — a business card, a menu link, a shipment reference. What matters is that it still scans after printing, which is what error correction is for: a higher level survives more scuffing and dirt, and leaves less room for your text.
Common questions
How much text can a QR code hold?
It depends on the error-correction level — a higher level leaves less room. If you exceed the capacity the tool refuses and names the level it measured against, rather than silently truncating and handing you a code that scans to half a URL.
Which error-correction level should I choose?
Medium is right for most uses. Go higher if the code will be printed on something that gets handled or scuffed; go lower if your text is long and it will only ever be shown on a screen.
Is my text stored?
No. It is used to draw the image and then discarded. Be aware it does travel to our server, because the rendering happens there rather than in your browser.
