Arabic keyboard

Write Arabic on any device: click Arabic letters, tashkeel marks, digits, and punctuation on screen, build your text, and copy it to use anywhere. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

To write Arabic without an Arabic keyboard, click the letters on the screen to build your text, add tashkeel and punctuation if you need them, and copy the result into any form or search box. The tool is free, needs no sign-up, runs entirely in your browser, and does not change your computer keyboard layout.

How to use it

Click the Arabic letters on the screen to build your text one letter at a time. The text box is also directly editable, so you can type whatever your own keyboard can and click what it cannot. Use the tashkeel row to add diacritics to the letter just before the cursor, choose the digit style you want, and copy the text when you are done.

When it helps

Many devices and keyboards have no Arabic layout, and changing the system layout is not always possible on a shared or work computer. An on-screen keyboard lets you write Arabic for forms, search boxes, and messages without installing anything or changing any setting.

Common questions

What is tashkeel?

Tashkeel is the system of Arabic diacritical marks, such as fatha, kasra, damma, sukun, and shadda. The marks change how a word is pronounced and are used in Quranic text, poetry, and learning materials. Click a tashkeel key to add its mark to the letter just before the cursor.

Can I paste the text anywhere?

Yes. Copy your text and paste it into any form, search box, document, or chat. The text is standard Unicode Arabic, so it displays correctly everywhere.

Does this change my keyboard layout?

No. Your computer keeps the keyboard layout it already has. This tool only produces text for you to copy, so nothing is installed and no system setting changes.

Why are there two digit styles?

Arabic text uses two digit styles: Arabic-Indic digits such as ٠١٢٣ and Western digits such as 0123. Choose the style you want before pressing the digit keys; each press inserts the selected style.
