PDF to text and tables

Pull the text and tables out of a scan so you can paste them into a spreadsheet.

We process your file on our server, then delete it after 6 hours

You get one file containing the text, one CSV per table the page contains, and a tables.json listing each table with its estimated confidence. Check the tables against the original before you rely on them — reading tables off a scan is still approximate.

How to use it

When it helps

The numbers live on paper and the deadline is today. Getting them into a spreadsheet by hand means retyping every cell; this reads the page once and hands you the text and the tables to check, not to retype.

Common questions

Which files can I upload?

A scanned PDF or a photo (JPEG or PNG), up to 50 MB and 50 pages per file. The clearer the photo, the better the read.

Does it give me an Excel file?

Not yet. You get one CSV per table, which opens in Excel, Google Sheets or any spreadsheet program.

How accurate are the tables?

Tables from a scan are the hard part, and the tool will not pretend otherwise. Every table comes with an estimated confidence inside tables.json, and the tool tells you to check it against the original before using the numbers.

What if the tables cannot be read?

The run stops and you get your credits back, with a plain message saying so. You are never charged for a tables read we could not make.

What does a run cost?

It depends on the number of pages. You see the exact number after the tool reads your file and before you confirm, and the credits come off only when the run succeeds.
